• 包装工程实验室建立于2005年9月，下设食品和药品包装实验室、运输包装实验室和包装印刷实验室。包装工程实验室是广东普通高校重点实验室、中国包装科研测试中心联合实验室、教育部重大工程灾害与控制重点实验室包装与物流安全工程实验室、首批珠海市包装材料与技术公共实验室、珠海市重点实验室。已形成了包装工程学士、硕士、博士完整的人才培养体系，承担了包括国家科技支撑计划重点项目、国家自然科学基金项目、省部级科技项目在内的各类科研项目30多项，在包装材料化学物迁移、产品运输包装结构系统分析与优化等研究领域已形成优势和特色。
• 总体目标是：成为国内包装科学与技术的研究基地、高层次人才的培养基地、包装技术人员的继续教育基地；成为国内一流和国际有重要影响的包装科研机构；承担国家、地方和行业重大科技攻关项目，解决包装工业发展中的关键技术问题，成为包装工业发展的重要技术支柱；加强与包装工业企业界的紧密合作，为企业提供技术、人才培训、咨询等服务。
Introduction of Packaging Engineering Institute of Jinan University
• Packaging Engineering Institute（PEI）mainly focuses on theory and design of transportation packaging, logistics sensing and detection technology, technology and safety of food packaging, and packaging printing, aiming at solving the key technical problems in the development of the packaging industry. PEI has formed complete training system for bachelor, master and doctor degrees in packaging engineering. PEI has undertaken more than 50 scientific research projects including the national key technology support projects, national natural science foundation projects, provincial and ministerial level science and technology projects and others. Guided by PEI, the key laboratory of product packaging and logistics started its construction in 2010. The laboratory and PEI strive for a better future in the aspects of teaching, researching and the communication with the institutions and the companies at home and abroad.
